Experienced Trainer
B.C. Fire Code and municipal bylaws require all supervisory staff to receive training before they are granted any responsibility for fire safety. Colin Snyder, our experienced fire safety trainer is an off-duty firefighter with a knack for communicating and teaching. He conducts the seminars in your workplace and customizes the training for your building or situation. Colin has been a firefighter for over 28 years and has been training with Radius Fire for 22 years. In addition to being a NFPA certified fire service instructor and fire officer, Colin is also a faculty member with the JIBC.
Fire Extinguisher Operation Training
Our fire extinguisher operation seminars combine theory and hands-on training. You will learn how to identify the different types of fires, what fuels them, how to select the right fire extinguisher, and how to use a fire extinguisher properly. Note that we do not do live fires for this training.
Fire Drills
Did you know that the B.C. Fire Code and Vancouver fire bylaws require documented fire drills to be held annually for low-rise buildings and every two months for high-rise buildings? Did you know that most fire departments do not conduct fire drills?
A fire drill is a rehearsed evacuation. Our trainer will conduct an actual fire drill and provide you with an immediate on-site critique followed by a written report by mail. Note that our trainer will NOT provide training on how to evacuate the building as this is only a critique/evaluation.
If training is required, see Building Evacuation. We will also conduct an actual fire drill and provide you with an immediate on-site critique followed by a written report by email.
Building Evacuation Training
Every minute is crucial during an emergency evacuation. When you know what to do and where to go, an evacuation goes swifter and smoother. This safety training seminar teaches emergency preparedness and how to evacuate a building safely. Become familiar with your building’s safety features, and how you can use them to save lives. The seminar will also discuss the duties and responsibilities of a building or company’s fire safety director and floor wardens.
